SOUND FAMILIAR?

Licensed, working, and still not paid

Four months in, the savings are thinner than the pipeline. This is the year the industry loses most new brokers, and it is rarely the broker's fault.

You did the course, passed the exam, got the licence, and then discovered the part nobody explained. Commission arrives at funding. Files take 30 to 90 days to close. Your first client in February is your first pay cheque in May, if the file survives. Meanwhile the brokerage that recruited you on a split has stopped returning calls, your files sit in the slowest lender queue, and every evening goes to paperwork you did not know existed.

The Canadian industry loses most new agents inside two years and calls it natural attrition. It is not. It is the predictable result of putting someone on commission with no structure around them.

What it looks like

The 9pm file

A client sends documents at night, you have a question about self employed income, and there is nobody to ask until the office opens. The file cools while you wait.

Bottom tier status

Your first submissions go in under whatever status a new agent gets, which is none. A file that takes five days for a top producer takes fifteen for you.

Admin instead of prospecting

Compliance forms, lender conditions and follow ups take the hours that should go to the twenty calls a day that build a pipeline.

The real cause

Income lag is a maths problem with a known answer: pipeline before licence, files funding within the first 90 days, and a brokerage that carries the parts a new agent cannot. The split you were sold does not appear anywhere in that sentence.

What changes

At A.I.M.I. Collective a new broker is paired with a mentor for their first files, submits under the brokerage's top tier lender status from day one, and works a written first 90 days plan with weekly lender training behind it. Compliance and deal processing are handled at head office. Read the first 90 days plan, what the best brokerage for new agents actually provides, and the income math so you can plan the gap instead of being surprised by it.

Our approach

We onboard licensed brokers only, so the licence is yours to earn before we can help with anything else. After that you get weekly lender training, a team chat where new and experienced brokers answer around the clock, and senior brokers who will work your first files alongside you. There is no scripted programme with a guaranteed timeline. There is a room full of people who pick up.

Common questions

How long until a new mortgage broker gets paid?
Commonly two to four months from licence to first funded file, because files take 30 to 90 days to close. A pipeline plan started before the licence is issued shortens it.
Should a new broker take the highest split offered?
Not on its own. A high split on no funded volume is zero. In year one the mentor, the lender status and the admin support decide whether files fund at all.
Does A.I.M.I. Collective take newly licensed brokers?
Yes, once your licence is issued. We onboard licensed brokers only, under the regulations, in BC, Alberta and Ontario.
