Ask for every fee in writing, the lender status your files will carry, who supports a hard file, what head office processes, what technology costs, and what happens to your clients if you leave.
Ask for every fee in writing before anything else: desk, transaction, technology, royalty, errors and omissions, termination. Then ask what your submissions look like to a lender on day one, because bottom tier status costs more than a lower split. Ask who takes your call on a file you cannot place, and whether that person is an underwriter or a manager with a sales target.
Ask what head office carries: processing, compliance review, payroll, licence deadlines. Ask what is included in technology and what is a member rate, and whether you would choose those tools yourself. Ask what marketing produced last quarter for a broker at your volume, not what it promises.
Finally ask about leaving, because the answer tells you about staying: what happens to your clients, your files and your renewals if you go. A good brokerage answers all of this in writing and does not mind the question.
We publish how to compare us with everyone else because the comparison holds up. Every fee is in writing before you sign. Lender status is top tier from your first submission. Processing, compliance and payroll are carried at head office. The portal is included; BrokerDam is a paid CRM at a member rate, never a bundle. Compensation is top tier and competitive, set against your volume, and worked through on a discovery call with your last twelve months in front of us. We provide the infrastructure. You build the book.
